Amy Lawson

PhD Student

Amy undertook her PhD as part of the London Interdisciplinary Doctoral program (LIDo). She was jointly supervised for her PhD in the Cooke lab and in Professor Emily Jones's laboratory at Birkbeck University, working in both mice and human babies to identify translatable biomarkers of different subclasses of cortical inhibitory neurons. Amy defended her thesis at the end of 2025 and she will formally graduate in 2026. She is now working as a post-doctoral scientist at University College London in the laboratory of Lorenzo Fabrizi.
