Richard studied for his undergraduate and MSci at University College London. He joined KCL for his PhD as part of the the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (CNDD) program. He is currently undertaking a project on EEG/LFP biomarkers of dysregulated inhibition in Neurofibromatosis type 1, jointly across the Cooke lab and the laboratory of Professor Emily Jones.
